 Tomato is not a cosmetic ingredient by accident. It is one of nature's richest sources of lycopene — a carotenoid antioxidant with an exceptional scientific profile. Lycopene has been identified in research as 10x more potent than beta-carotene as a free-radical scavenger, making it one of the most effective natural agents against UV-induced oxidative skin damage — the cellular process that triggers melanin overproduction (tan and dark spots).
 
 This face wash works on two levels: the natural alpha-hydroxy acids (citric and malic acid) naturally present in tomato juice provide gentle exfoliation that physically lifts the uppermost layer of tanned, dead skin cells. Simultaneously, lycopene works deeper in the epidermis to interrupt the oxidative cascade that drives ongoing melanin synthesis from continued sun exposure. Direction to use
  • Step 1 — Wet face and neck thoroughly.
  • Step 2 — Apply a generous amount of face wash to face and neck (include the back of the neck, jawline, and décolleté if these areas are tanned).
  • Step 3 — Massage in circular motions for 60–90 seconds. The longer contact time compared to a regular face wash allows the lycopene and AHAs to interact meaningfully with the skin.
  • Step 4 — Optional de-tan enhancement: Before rinsing, pause for 30–60 additional seconds with the product still on the skin. This extended contact increases AHA exfoliation and lycopene antioxidant action.
  • Step 5 — Rinse thoroughly with cool water.
  • Step 6 — Pat dry. Follow with sunscreen (SPF 30+) in the morning.
